FAQ

Common questionsabout Provenance Credit.

Honest answers about what we do, how the model works, and where we are right now.

Getting started

What is Provenance Credit?

Provenance Credit builds verified reliability records for trade-finance manufacturers — a structured, independently verified track record that documents business identity, trade history, and payment performance over time.

Is Provenance Credit live yet?

We're in early build, working with a select group of manufacturers ahead of a full launch. If you're interested in participating early, get in touch.

For manufacturers

How does Provenance Credit help me?

Provenance Credit builds a verified track record from your business registration, trade documentation, and payment history. As the record grows with each resolved trade, it becomes a credible, portable signal of reliability — one you carry into every new financing conversation without starting from zero.

What does the process actually require from me?

Business registration documents, signatory details, and banking for the initial verification. Then standard trade documents — invoices, shipping records, payment confirmations — submitted as trades happen. Nothing created specifically for this process.

How much does it cost?

Free to participate as a manufacturer. There are no charges to build a record, submit documentation, or be part of the platform.

The reliability score

What does the score actually measure?

The Provenance Credit report produces two independently calculated scores — Operational Reliability (does this manufacturer execute consistently?) and Verification Strength (how much corroborating evidence exists for what they're claiming?) — plus a Confidence label reflecting how much verified history underlies each. We don't publish the exact weighting or formula.

Who sees the score?

The score is part of your verified record. It isn't published publicly, and — like the rest of your data — it's never sold or used for marketing.

Data & privacy

What data do you collect, and who sees it?

We collect business registration information, trade documentation, and verification results. Your data isn't shared with unrelated third parties. Contact us for details on our data practices.
